BMAM Expo Asia 2018, the key to integrated solutions for FM of the future

IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. presents the 11th edition of BMAM Expo Asia 2018 (“BMAM”), the international exhibition and conference on building maintenance and facilities management. Themed “Integrated solutions for FM of the future”, this trade exhibition will be held from 12 to 14 September 2018, Hall 5-6, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand. Featuring the latest technologies and innovations for facilities management in line with the industry development strategy “Thailand 4.0”, showcases include products and services for smart buildings; cleaning; security; interior and landscape design; and green buildings. More than 150 exhibitors and 6,000 FM professionals and key decision makers from the ASEAN region are expected to attend the three-day event.

Growth of FM
In response to the accelerated growth of integrated facilities management in the Southeast Asia region, FM service providers expand their reach throughout the region with an estimated compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.6%, to reach market revenues exceeding $2 billion from 2015 to 2021. The trend of smart buildings has given a huge boost to the uptake of facilities management solutions in ASEAN.

MAHANAKHON 2580 with digital technology
Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning (“DPT”), said “DPT, the initiator of the Sub Regional Planning Project for Bangkok, MAHANAKHON 2580, intends to provide a guideline for land use and infrastructure development in Bangkok and its surrounding provinces. These projects will utilize digital technology in their planning, including simulation and prediction technology. DPT is pleased that BMAM will be the platform for gathering these technologies in a single event, which will be beneficial for development the country.”

Industrial growth and Technology trend
Mr. Loy Joon How, General Manager, IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., the organiser of BMAM, revealed that “in today’s increasingly digitized world, emerging technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), robotic process automation (RPA), artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) are playing strategic roles in facilities management and building maintenance. A business enabler, technology modernizes and transforms the FM industry. In the year 2014, Thailand’s spending in IoT amounted to 57.7 million US$ and will increase to 973.3 million US$ in 2020. The government has policies to support the automation and robotics industries to strengthen its technology hub position. In addition, Smart Park, a new concept of industrial estate with investment over 2,043 million baht, features the integration of smart innovation including smart infrastructure, smart IoT, smart security and smart energy system.”

Technology for Facilities Management
BMAM 2018 has added a new show segment, Smart Building Solution, showcasing smart devices; building automation systems and application; sensor systems; smart energy; AR; VR; and AI, in addition to FM products and services; work space management; cleaning products and services; security; interior and landscape design; green building technologies; and plant maintenance. There will also be International Building Management 4.0 Conference 2018 by Thai Building Manager Association and a seminar about FM from AEC speakers, where industry experts will be sharing their insughts and expertise.

Integrated solutions for FM of the future 2018
As a prelude to BMAM 2018, the”Integrated solutions for FM of the future 2018 Industry Forum” will be sharing updates on the integrated solutions for FM of the future; urban development planning and policies; as well as the role of the Architect Council of Thailand in Bangkok-Nakhon Ratchasima high-speed railway project. Speakers include representatives from the Department of Public Works and Town Planning, Department of Public Works Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Architect Council of Thailand, Thai Building Manager Association, and Thailand Facility Management.
